Jim May

Chief Schools Officer, New Tech Network

As a former School Principal in Washington, DC, Jim now works for New Tech Network (NTN) as Chief Schools Officer. Jim’s focus is on supporting the implementation efforts of over 175 schools in 29 states and Australia that make up the Network. Working to ensure that every NTN school has the support it needs to become a great school, he supports NTN’s school coaches, assessment initiatives, leadership development work, and national events.

Sue Walsh

System and School Learning Consultant, Former Deputy Executive Director

Now a System and School Learning Consultant, Sue has led a system of schools, 45,000 students and 5,000 teachers in Australia. While leading this system, Sue held the positions of Deputy Executive Director and Director of Learning until 2019. Integral to Sue’s leadership has been her experience as classroom teacher, school principal and multiple system leadership roles. Sue is passionate about building the capacity of leaders and teachers so that students experience real and rigorous teaching and learning.

Each workshop will be centred on one of the NTN Conditions for Fostering Deeper Learning: Meaningful, Active, Relational, Responsive and Challenging.
